Algorfa

Algorfa Area Guide

With distant origins as far back as the Neolithic period, (as long ago as 3000 B.C),  the town we know today as Algorfa came officially in to existence in 1790. Of great historical significance locally,  Algorfa today continues as a small yet bustling Spanish town.

With a population of approximately 3000 inhabitants, the town has a rich Spanish traditional feel, mixed with the influences of other Europeans who also call it home.

Situated to the south of the River Segura, the town sits in large swathes of farmland, yet is by no means isolated. It has its own nursery and primary schools, health centre and is only a 10 minute drive from the local Vega Baja Hospital. There is also a large modern park with tennis courts, a large outdoor public swimming pool and football pitches. The AP-7 motorway is approximately a 5 minute drive from the village itself.

There are primarily five areas which make up Algorfa. The village itself as described above  and the outer urbanisations of Montemar, Montebello, Lomas de la Juliana, Lo Crispin and the famous La Finca Golf and Spa Resort.

La Finca Golf and Spa Resort

The 5 Star La Finca Golf and Spa Resort in is the heart of the urbanisation La Finca. With its 18 hole golf course and luxurious Spa facilities, it really is the epitome of luxury and it’s not unknown to spot the odd “celeb” every now and again.

Other Attractions

In addition to the resort itself, the La Finca Commercial Centre is a modern area comprising bars, restaurants, various shops and a wide array of other services.
